Deathtoricky glasgow performance

Flying duck – 17/09/25

Coming off the back of his debut mixtape release, while not touring, Deathtoricky played a great show in Glasgow.

He had Glasgow’s very own “juju” do a brief opening set which was good as the crowd was reciprocating the performers energy, which usually doesn’t happen with openers so it was a very nice to see.

Ricky came out to “tuesday” the opener of his debut mixtape “#ikfly” which you can read about here. He continued playing songs from the tape while interacting with the crowd even giving fans the microphone to rap into if they knew the lyrics.

While it was performed with a backing track Ricky still rapped the words of the songs making the concert way more engaging. He played primarily his new music which while very good, I was upset to not hear some of the other music in his catalogue. It makes sense however as his discography is still small and I imagine he wants to push his new stuff as much as he can.

Towards the end of his set he played his two biggest songs “Breathing right” and “Motives” Which by far were the two most high energy songs from him and the crowd and I can only imagine how good they’d sound being played in a bigger venue.

After his set he actually went behind the dj decks and played one or two songs before going off which was fun to see.

The real highlight of the concert however was afterwards when he came outside to where all the fans where and interacted with everyone. He took photos with anyone who asked and was signing things for people. Its good to see that cause hes still young and new to rap, he’s giving back to the fans that have put him in this position.

The concert was a fun and energetic night which only made me excited for when I can see him again, hopefully, In a bigger venue with an even larger energy.
